Every year for the past few Christmases, Luke's parents have given us the gift of time; time to be spent as a family. Last year we took Luke's parents to Zion National Park and had a wonderful time introducing them to a place that we love so much. Those memories we made will last far longer than anything tangible they could have gotten us. This past Christmas, they gave us four times through out the year that we will spend together, but instead of being just, we would spend it as a whole family (including all of Luke's 3 siblings and their spouses. The first was a trip to Red Rock. Luke and I know this gift was for us, because we are the ones that love spending our time outside. We had spent the weeks prior scouting locations and picking out the perfect place to climb. The spot we picked ended up being perfect. there were
The break ended and Luke and I both headed back to the real world of working our nine to five jobs. Instead of adventuring whenever we wanted, we were back to heading out only on the weekends. After a tortuous week of work (not really just a normal week, but those first weeks back after vacation are always the hardest) we headed out to Red Rock to get some climbs in. It was a relatively quiet day, because there was a storm coming in about noon. We left early in hopes of beating the storm, because what is a weekend without being able to climb. Luke had picked out a new crag that we hadn't been to before because he wanted to try a 5.9 on trad. I wasn't particularly feeling well, my throat was hurting and my neck, and I didn't feel much like climbing. Luckily for me, Luke's climbing partner came with us. So while they were climbing, I was free to roam around and take pictures. I think I ended up with some great shots of Red Rock, as well as of Luke climbing. ...
